    West Bengal Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation(WBIIDC) was established by an Ordinance in 1973 later replaced by an Act '74 (XXV) to spearhead a unified effort for the State's industrial development in a well planned basis.

    Today the Corporation functions with 13 members nominated by the State Government, including the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer(ex-officio member) All leading Chambers of Commerce & Industries are represented in the Board.

    Focus Areas of Activities
    • Developes infrastructures for industry in economically less advanced areas.

    • Sets up Industrial Growth Centers with all infrastructural facilities at various locations to make the same available for industrial/commercial enterprises.

    • Undertakes construction of social infrastructures.

    • Executes various development schemes on behalf of Govt. Departments & other organisations on agency basis.

    The Corporation has so far promoted 12 fully developed industrial Growth Centers spread over 2000 acres of land at various locations in the State.

    Land is available for expansion, re-location of existing units in WBIIDC'S Growth Centers with minimised formalities.
