Dabgram Growth Centre on an area of 94.38 acres is located by the side of Siliguri -Jalpaiguri Road (S.H.12A) at a distance of about 8 K.M from Siliguri town and about 2 K.M from New Jalpaiguri Railway Station. The nearest airport is Bagdogra located about 20 K.M away from the site. though, technically, the site is within the district of Jalpaiguri, the social infrastructure of this growth centre is dependent on Siliguri town, in the district of Darjeeling, due to its close proximity.Siliguri ,though it is a subdivisional town, is strategically located and popularly known as the gateway of North Bengal.Its growth has been phenomenal since independence with social infrastructure facilities like Medical College,General Hospital, North Bengal University, Degree college with arts, Commerce and Science Streams, High Schools, both Bengali And English Medium post Offices, Telephone Exchange,Banks, Market, Industrial Training Institute etc. Moreover, as the site is located within the Sattelite township near Siliguri, social infrastructural facilities will also be available adjacent to the site.The site is located at a distance of about 40 K.M from Jalpaiguri town,the district headquarters, where facilities of Engineering College offering, degree in civil, Electrical and mechanical Engineering colleges, degree colleges, higher Secondary,Secondary and technical Schools, adequate medical facilities with specilised doctors etc are available. In the growth center, power, drainage, road network System etc have been provided at door step. A 2 x 3 MVA sub-station has been provided in the site to assure steady supply of power to the enterprenurs through 11 KV overhead grid. supply of water can be obtained by the enterpreneurs by sinking of ringwells within their alloted land. About 39 plots of different sizes ranging between 1 acre to 4 acres are available for setting of medium and large scale industries.About 20 acres of land have been alloted to 4 units till December,1986.
