Raw Material procurement and consumption Centre
There is a mix in the pattern with units procuring material from nearby areas as well as far off locations. However, some units, such as CERATIZIT India producing Carbide cutting tools are fully dependent on imported raw material. The finished good of this unit also uses Kolkata Airport for transporting it to their distribution market mainly North-India. Some units are also using Kolkata port for their export - oriented goods. The outer approach road and connectivity (NH-6) of the Growth Centre is a big strength for raw material and finished good movement.
